Itll be a jubilee at the Ohio State University Extension Gateway Learning Gardens in Springfield, Ohio on Aug. 1 The public is invited to the Gateway Garden Jubilee from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. to learn more about gardening, tour demonstration plots and visit horticulture vendors. The event, sponsored by OSU Extension Master Gardeners of Clark County, is free and open to the public. New for this years event include a childrens garden, more than 40 mixed container gardens, a victory garden, Ohio early settlers garden and a plant doctor to answer hort-related questions. Visitors can tour the gardens, view field trials of 160 new annuals varieties and participate in several demonstration events covering such topics as composting, emerald ash borer, and weeding. There will also be childrens activities, live music, health screenings, derma scan skin screenings, local artisans and merchants and free food. The Gateway Learning Gardens are located at the Clark County Agricultural Agencies Building, PrimeOhio Corporate Park, 4400 Gateway Boulevard, Springfield, Ohio.
