Emerald Ash Borer

Summary
Clermont County Fairgoers to Learn More About EAB (7/23/2009)

Extension Educator, Cindy Burskey, wants to spread the word about the emerald ash borer (EAB) to visitors at this year's Clermont County Fair. Fair guests will have the opportunity to attend a program about this invasive insect responsible for killing millions of ash trees in Ohio. A display, along with educational materials, will be set-up on the grounds. While EAB populations in Clermont County appear to be isolated, populations will continue to grow and spread impacting the entire county. The insect can also be spread by moving infested ash trees, parts of an ash tree, and firewood.
