The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) today expanded the state’s emerald ash borer (EAB) quarantine area to include Fairfield County. ODA officials discovered an infested ash tree in a fence row near the intersection of State Route 256 and I-70 in Pickerington. The tree was one of nearly 10,000 detection trees — stressed ash trees used to attract EAB already in the area — set across the state in efforts to survey for the destructive insect.
