EAB Management Options Workshop May 23 in Xenia (5/8/2007)

Dan Herms, entomologist with OARDC and OSU Extension and Amy Stone, OSU Extension state emerald ash borer outreach coordinator, will speak at the Greene County Extension Office on May 23, 2007. The free workshop will provide information on the status of emerald ash borer in Ohio, ash tree treatment options and current research efforts to deal with the borer. Herms has been on the forefront of research, treatment and containment initiatives since the insect was found in North America in 2002. In addition to his own research, he serves with several state and national organizations dealing with this pest. Stone''s responsibilities as state EAB outreach coordinator also include working with individuals and communities as they prepare for EAB infestations in their areas. This is an excellent opportunity to receive the most up-to-date information on this invasive insect that threatens all ash trees in North America.
